Children live in a world of make-believe, where nothing is impossible, where lost children are always found, where Good always triumphs over Evil, where a story always has a happy ending. The World at Belly Button Level explores this idyllic world, which most adults find difficult to remember, a world shrouded in misty childhood memories.

The World At Belly Button Level
Children's Series created by Ms. Poppy Hill • Optioned The series is centered around Jeremy and Naomi Powers, six-year-old fraternal twins, adorable, inquisitive, precocious little bundles of energy who are blessed with curious psychic powers. As each episode begins, the twins sit cross-legged in front of a big screen television watching their father's nightly television newscast with intense interest. Andrew Powers, the Evening News Anchor, always closes his show with a human interest story.
After their father signs off, the twins race upstairs to their playroom and settle in front of Ms. Polly, a life-size doll that sits in half shadow in a rocking chair, an open storybook on her lap. The twins wait patiently. The rocker slowly rocks forward into the light, revealing part of Ms. Polly's face for a moment before she rocks back into the shadows. Each time the doll rocks forward, her face looks a bit more human-like. Finally the rocker stops and Ms. Polly leans over and looks down at the twins. She has morphed into a kindly, all-knowing entity, half doll and half human.
The open storybook that rests on her lap reveals a two-page color illustration that is identical to the closing shot on the evening newscast. Ms. Polly begins to tell Jeremy and Naomi the real story behind their father's closing human interest story. As she does so, the twins are drawn into the story.
